THE BAILEY POWER PLANT TOUR
IFMA MEETING
APRIL 12, 2018

What a great turnout!  About 30 of us met at Alma Mexicana Restaurant at the corner of Bailey Power Plant for chips and salsa while everyone gathered for the tour. Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce (Walter Robbs) is the architect of record for the core and shell design of this adaptive re-use/ mixed-use project, which was recently named the re-development of the year by NAIOP NC. The core and shell work included exterior restoration; updating the exterior façade; lobby, corridor, and atrium design; building systems and structural design; and LEED certification. Interior upfit work was provided by various project teams for individual building tenants. CJMW provided interior design for the tenant upfit of Turbine Hall, second level tenant spaces, and the CML Microsystems space. Interior design at Alma Mexicana was provided by Stitch. Gaudreau, Inc provided design services for WFBMC 4th and 5th floor tenant spaces and Walter Robbs interior designers provided furniture and artwork selection. The RJR smokestacks have even been refurbished and an original camel remains in the lobby (painted on one of the walls!) Site design and site lighting is by Stimmel Associates.  Many thanks to Kathleen Warner, Principal, and Keagan Pope, Architect, with CJMW for taking us on the tour.  See photos viewable at this link: April 2018 Tour of The Bailey Plant in Winston-Salem 9 photos
